Lover of Sushi

My favorite food is sushi. The first time I had sushi was when my mom came home from Whole Foods Market on a Friday night. The sushi was in little mini trays with dipping sauce. She just got it for my dad and her. She usually gets salmon rolls and spicy tuna rolls. I asked to try some and she said, "Yes." I ate all the rolls before they looked back down at the trays. She and my Dad said, "Wow."

The next time I had sushi was at Sushi House. It was soooo good. There were lots of kinds of sushi and a kind of miso soup. The booth was a private area and you took off your shoes and sat cross-legged. The drink was really good. It was like Sprite, but Asian. You had to click a marble through the bottlecap so it would open.

Another place where I have had sushi is at Benihana. I went with my friend Jacob, Nick, and their mom Kathy. It was their last night visiting us from Manhattan so we had a big night. I had Philadelphia sushi. It has cream cheese, raw fish (salmon), avocado, rice, and seaweed.

I like sushi because it's Asian and I've always loved Asian foods. I also like using chopsticks. The seaweed tastes chewy and awesome. I love soy sauce even if sodium is bad for you. (They should make some soy sauce that doesn't have any salt in it.) Salmon rolls are my favorite. I've always loved raw salmon.

Even if you've never tried sushi -- this is why you should try it: It's delicious and healthy and if you try different foods, you could end up traveling the world eating good food. Like foodies like me.

  1. Hi! I'm a friend of your mom's and I LOVE sushi, too!! The next time you have sushi, ask if you can try unagi (eel). It is my absolute favorite. It's kind of sweet and one time in a restaurant I even ordered it for dessert. One of my other favorite things that maybe you haven't tried is soft-shell crab. You actually eat the whole little crab... shell and all. But it's much better than it sounds.

  2. Dear Isabel,
I must admit, I have never had sushi. I don't know why, I actually love fish. But I haven't been adventurous enough to eat it raw; except for raw salmon which I love. But maybe you have inspired me and perhaps I will give it a try!
