My Favorite Restaurants

My mom likes to tell the story of when I was three and I went to a dinner party with her and my dad. It was a party at our friends the Buchanans' house celebrating my sister's adoption.Lots of people from our church went. There was a big bowl of blue cheese dip and crackers and veggies separately. I found a spoon and ate the whole bowl of the blue cheese dip. (I love soft, stinky cheese.)

I tell you all of this to say I am a life long foodie. So as you imagine I have some favorite restaurants. Here are some of my favorites. In an upcoming blog I will tell you my favorite dishes at these restaurants.

Julie & Julia

A movie I like about cooking is Julie & Julia featuring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. The main characters names are Julie Powell and Julia Child. The story is really two stories overlapping. The story is about Julie Powell following Julia Child's cookbook which is in Queens New York. My favorite part in this story was when I saw my family friend Eric Sheffer Stevens at the dinner party. He played Tim the sister of Julie. On the other side of the world Julia Child was living in London and going to a French cooking class where she is the first women in. A part which I liked was when it is in Julia's first class and she is just starting, their class needs to chop up onions and she is just racing the men because you can just see her face go competitively. She is not faster than one man. Later you see her chopping up onions and crying. When her husband comes home from work he asks while wiping his eyes," What are you doing dear?" Julia says,"You should have seen the class, they were looking at me like I was crazy!" Julia & Julia is a great movie for the whole family to enjoy!!!
