Top 10 Desserts

Last summer I sat around the camp fire at my cousins' house and we were roasting marshmallows and making S'mores. My whole family was there: my grandma, my uncle and aunt, their children, and my other cousins. Then my Uncle Chris said S'mores are his favorite dessert. He asked me if S'mores were my favorite dessert. I said, "No. They are probably my fourth favorite dessert. He asked me what top ten favorite desserts are and said I should write a blog post about them.

So, here it is:

  1. Creme Brulee
  2. chocolate eclairs
  3. Oreos
  4. S'mores
  5. strawberries dipped in milk chocolate
  6. ice-cream sundaes
  7. Root beer floats
  8. chocolate cake
  9. dark chocolate
  10. gelato
So what are your favorite desserts?

Lover of Sushi

My favorite food is sushi. The first time I had sushi was when my mom came home from Whole Foods Market on a Friday night. The sushi was in little mini trays with dipping sauce. She just got it for my dad and her. She usually gets salmon rolls and spicy tuna rolls. I asked to try some and she said, "Yes." I ate all the rolls before they looked back down at the trays. She and my Dad said, "Wow."

The next time I had sushi was at Sushi House. It was soooo good. There were lots of kinds of sushi and a kind of miso soup. The booth was a private area and you took off your shoes and sat cross-legged. The drink was really good. It was like Sprite, but Asian. You had to click a marble through the bottlecap so it would open.

Another place where I have had sushi is at Benihana. I went with my friend Jacob, Nick, and their mom Kathy. It was their last night visiting us from Manhattan so we had a big night. I had Philadelphia sushi. It has cream cheese, raw fish (salmon), avocado, rice, and seaweed.

I like sushi because it's Asian and I've always loved Asian foods. I also like using chopsticks. The seaweed tastes chewy and awesome. I love soy sauce even if sodium is bad for you. (They should make some soy sauce that doesn't have any salt in it.) Salmon rolls are my favorite. I've always loved raw salmon.

Even if you've never tried sushi -- this is why you should try it: It's delicious and healthy and if you try different foods, you could end up traveling the world eating good food. Like foodies like me.

Hot Lunch at My School

Gross! Hot lunch is so disgusting! There are foot-long hot dogs that are purple. The macaroni is wet with no cheese and only noodles. There are also Sloppy Joes -- I once saw the lunch lady pour the meat out of plastic bag when I got to the lunchroom early. (Don't remind me!) They put the meat in burger buns that are half frozen. Sloppy Joes smell so gross and are actually spicy. There is also "bun and a patty" and make your own pizza and also make your own nachos. The "make your own pizza" is a pita with cheese and pepperoni and cold tomato sauce that is kept in the freezer. (At the beginning of the day, they take it out so it unfreezes.) The "make your own nachos" has cold cheese and it sometimes comes with ranch dressing. (Yuck!)

What I bring for lunch is a pack of olives and carrots and some dark chocolate, a container with salad, homemade trail mix, and so many other things depending on the day. The main thing I like to have in my lunch is a mustard, lettuce, tomato, mayo, Swiss cheese sandwich.

Sometimes I bring in a thermos with leftover pasta after my family goes to Noodles and Company the day before. I like the "Pasta Fresca" with extra spinach, tofu, and feta cheese. (You can get it other ways, too.)

Once when I went to Panera Bread Company for dinner, before my brother's baseball game, I ordered my favorite sandwich (see above!) and they gave me a sandwich that was salami, ham, and turkey plain. I am a (semi) vegetarian, so I gave it to my friend's mom and they loved it so much. It seemed to me they tore it to pieces while they ate it.

The daughter said to her mom after a few minutes, "You already ate it all?"

And the Mom opened up her mouth and showed the last bit of sandwich and said, "No!"

The best place where I get my favorite (Swiss cheese) sandwich is called Shane's Deli.

I've proved my point! Hot lunch is very gross. There are a lot of good places to get your lunch, not including the school cafeteria!
